Swim Up Hill Launches $2.5 Million Fundraising Campaign to Expand Access, Equity, and Employment Through Aquatics
Led by Paralympic Medalist and CEO Jamal Hill, the initiative aims to transform lives nationwide through swimming, job creation, and health equity
LOS ANGELES, CA — Swim Up Hill, the purpose-driven parent company revolutionizing aquatic access and education, has officially launched a bold $2.5 million fundraising campaign aimed at scaling its national impact across underserved communities. The campaign will support program expansion, job creation, and community infrastructure development through the company’s Social Impact and Foundation divisions.
The campaign is led by Swim Up Hill CEO and Founder Jamal Hill, a Paralympic medalist and global health equity advocate, whose personal journey has inspired thousands to reimagine the role of water in healing, opportunity, and public safety.
“This campaign is more than just a fundraising goal—it’s a call to reallocate power,” said Jamal Hill, CEO. “It’s about equipping communities with the skills, confidence, and access they deserve. Water has always been a source of life. Now, it will also be a source of jobs, safety, and pride.”
What the $2.5M Will Fund:
20,000+ new swim students across inner-city schools and recreation centers
100+ aquatics jobs and instructor certifications in underrepresented communities
Municipal partnerships to retrofit or reopen underutilized pool spaces
Research & digital tools through Swim Up Hill’s growing platform, Swim Suite
The campaign follows a wave of national attention on racial health disparities, heart disease, and mental health—areas where Swim Up Hill’s programs have shown measurable impact. With its dual nonprofit and social enterprise model, Swim Up Hill remains one of the few scalable vehicles to turn corporate pledges and philanthropic capital into lasting, community-driven outcomes.
Hill, named to Team USA’s Paralympic roster and the UN Youth Office’s list of global leaders, has built Swim Up Hill into more than a company—it is now a movement at the intersection of sport, public health, and workforce transformation.
